Gérald Véniard

Gérald began ocean racing with the Figaro and, after four years under the colours of Scutum, he was joined by Macif. In 2008, the skipper launched the famous "Skipper Macif" programme aimed at supporting a skipper over two seasons on one of the most demanding circuits in professional sailing.

In 2010, he took part in the Transat AG2R with Jeanne Grégoire on the Figaro Banque Populaire, then accompanied Arnaud Boissières in his preparation for the Route du Rhum the same year. He will remain at the side of the skipper from Arcachon the following year and will participate with him in the 2011 Transat Jacques Vabre aboard Akena Verandas.

Gérald then raced in the Figaro and IRC for several years until 2020, when he supported Alexia Barrier in her preparation for the Vendée Globe.

It was in 2022 that Gérald became more familiar with IMOCA sailing. Indeed, after a Route du Rhum return trip aboard La Mie Câline, Arnaud Boissières offered to accompany him on the 2023 double-handed season. We will therefore find the duo, from May 7th, at the start of the Guyader Bermudes 1000 Race.
