At the checkpoint off Les Chats, south of the island, the Goodchild–Berrehar duo had to fend off the attacks from Charal and Teamwork Team Snef. But it was indeed in that order that the three boats arrived within a whisker of each other. Unstoppable, that Macif, as we told you! Notably, just off the podium, the day’s guest entry Association Petits Princes – Quéguiner clocked the fourth fastest time.

Sailing around the island at nearly 19 knots on average, the leaders put on a great show but couldn’t hope to beat Vincent Riou’s record of 1h08 set in 2015. A record now celebrating its tenth anniversary — and that may well stand for many years to come.
