The second night of these 48 Hours Azimut was another busy one, even difficult: a weak wind that was still not settling in direction, a few showers and storms approaching SN1, the mark added yesterday by the race committee at the entrance to the Loire estuary, the eve of the cargo ships and fishermen...

‘It was a bit of a drama for us last night,’ Morgan Lagravière on Charal told us bluntly at dawn. ‘We had quite a few transitions, less successful than the others, but we haven't said our last word yet!’ The black and red IMOCA will have to hang on and find its fighting spirit to save the podium. While Macif Santé Prévoyance, well positioned between its competitors and the finish line, seems untouchable with a 6-mile lead 30 miles from the finish, the battle for the places of honour remains open. TeamWork Team Snef is holding on to the lead to offer the first podium finish in this IMOCA since 2018, since Justine Mettraux took over in 2022. Café Joyeux and Charal are neck and neck. Will the wind finally pick up this morning south of Belle Île or continue to maintain the status quo between foilers and keelboats?
