The starting line for the Defi Azimut is open on Virtual Regatta!
While the Defi Azimut has set up base at Lorient La Base, the virtual fleet sets off today at 2:00 PM.
A 1,100-nautical-mile solo race in IMOCA boats: Lorient, the Scilly Isles, the Fastnet, and back to Lorient—five days at sea. The passage past the Scilly Isles and the leg up to the Fastnet will decide the race, played out in a Celtic Sea battered by successive Atlantic low-pressure systems in September.
Meanwhile, back in Lorient, professional skippers will be competing in the "Runs," the Azimut 48-Hour race, and the Tour de Groix aboard their IMOCAs from Wednesday through Sunday.
The finish line remains open until 9:00 PM on Sunday, September 20; there is still time to join the fleet, even after the race has started.
