The pontoons of Lorient-La Base are starting to stir again...

The pontoons of Lorient-La Base are starting to stir again after several days of dead calm, of summer work on the boats while the skippers have some rest… Given the weather forecast announcing strong sailing conditions in Brittany this week, the IMOCAs are going to find their favorite element again: the sea, the wind and the spray! The countdown to the start of the Vendée Globe is picking up and before that, that of the Defi Azimut, a formidable return to school for more than twenty skippers on September 9th.

Get out your notebooks and colored pencils!

For now 10 years, the Defi Azimut Challenge has been a unique opportunity to experience sailing on a grand scale, for both sailors and the public. For this 10th edition, 20 monohulls tailored for solo round-the-world sailing, from the most innovative (Charal, Apivia, LinkedOut, L'Occitane en Provence, ARKEA-Paprec) to those who have sailed the most (WATER FAMILY , Pure-Best Western, Banque Populaire, Apicil) without forgetting the great first generation foilers (Newrest-Art et Fenêtres, Bureau Vallée 2, PRB, Time for Oceans, Initiatives-Cœur, Prysmian Group, etc.) will offer themselves a colorful back-to-school period. "I can't wait, this is the last confrontation before the Vendée Globe! » says Thomas Ruyant (LinkedOut).

Back-to-school time is going to sound like a pleasure for the IMOCAs : the teams are going to meet partners, public and fans again. We can't wait for September 9th !
