Shaped by more than fifteen years of competition at the highest level—from the Volvo Ocean Race to the Vendée Globe, including the Jules Verne Trophy—Sébastien Marsset embodies a pragmatic, demanding, and deeply human approach to ocean sailing
An experienced sailor recognized for his technical rigor and humility, he has made “high-performance simplicity” the hallmark of his project: optimizing every resource, ensuring the boat’s reliability, and proving that a financially sound model can compete with the elite. Sébastien leads an offshore racing project in support of the Handicap Agir Ensemble endowment fund, backed by his title sponsor Foussier and driven by the Cap Agir Ensemble partners’ club, to promote inclusion through sailing.
Resolutely focused on the future, Sébastien is now embarking on a new sporting cycle with very clear ambitions.
After competing in the 2026 Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe, he is setting his sights on the 2028 Vendée Globe with the goal of taking a major leap forward by competing at the helm of a state-of-the-art foiler.
By combining his expertise in preparation and strategic finesse with the potential of a state-of-the-art foiling boat, Sébastien is aiming for a bold goal: to finish in the Top 10 around the world while embodying a human, understated, and committed adventure.
